Modules

Optional add-ons for a working installation

Modules are optional. The Wintertrace core is designed to run on its own — documentation, GPS, weather data and PDF proofs work without a single add-on. Modules cover specific situations that not every installation will face.

One module is currently published. The catalogue grows as new add-ons are released. The catalogue is fetched from the central Wintertrace add-on registry at build time — new modules appear here automatically once released.

How modules reach a running installation

Two paths. Both work on standard hosting — no shell, no special tools.

From inside the admin area

Open the Modules menu inside a running Wintertrace installation. Available add-ons appear in a list — install with one click. Signed against the same Ed25519 root key that protects core updates.

Manually via FTP

Download the module from the catalogue, unpack it, and upload the folder to modules/ inside your Wintertrace installation. The application picks it up on the next request.

See the installation page for general guidance on the file layout and admin access.
